# Add Ability to Remove Observations from Projects in Identify Module

**Description of need** :  
The ability to **add** observations to projects was added to the Identify Module under the Annotations tab and has been very helpful to save time. It would be very nice to also have the ability to **remove** observations from projects at this location.

**Feature request details** :  
On the webpage for an observation there is a gear symbol to click to show a list of options including removing from the project

This is not available in the Identify Module

There was another request that was turned down about removing in batches using a bunch of checkboxes. My idea seems like it would be easier to implement.

That would save having to open the obs - so we can ‘remove from project’.

Had to first delete my votes on previous feature requests. Deleted everything from 2023 - if it hasn’t happened, one vote more or less won’t matter. Also the **Closed** requests were supposed to automagically _return our votes_. Not true. Remove vote, remove, remove …

I can’t figure out how to generally remove observations from a project (somehow everything in the geographic range is going to an invasives projects). I feel so bad to be clogging up the project, but can’t figure out how to fix it.

If you’re talking about Invader Detectives-DC, that’s a collection project, so you don’t add or remove observations, they’re collected automatically, see [https://help.inaturalist.org/en/support/solutions/articles/151000170796-why-can-t-i-add-my-observation-to-this-project-](https://help.inaturalist.org/en/support/solutions/articles/151000170796-why-can-t-i-add-my-observation-to-this-project-)  
If you’re talking about some other project, please specify which.
