Hello!

When looking for/organizing things to identify, I like to build a list of all of the taxon I feel confident identifying. I can use a custom search URL to identify species on that list quickly. I would like to add the genus _Oenothera_ to that list, but without calling up observations in a certain section of the genus. Is there a way to add a genus, but exclude a specific daughter taxon from a list? I was thinking of adding all of the daughter taxa within Genus _Oenothera_ to the list that I would like to identify, and then adding the exact taxon Genus _Oenothera_ to the list, to catch the more general ids, while still excluding some of the daughter taxa. I’m not sure there’s a way to add an exact taxon though.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated! :)

Yes: add `&without_taxon_id=XXXXX` to the URL

What Thomas said. It would look something like this:
[https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/identify?taxon\_id=48626&without\_taxon\_id=914082](https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/identify?taxon_id=48626&without_taxon_id=914082)
which would exclude the section of Gauropsis
you might want to use reviewed=any, too
