Anyone know how to to this?

I’m willing to do it because the reasoning makes sense to me, but I’ve been poking around the observation in question for awhile and can’t figure out how to do it. Goal is just for that observation, I don’t want to obscure all of my observations, so user settings wouldn’t make sense.

Also wondering if the information will still be available to researchers, just not public. I think so? I more so just don’t know how to edit that. I’m willing to, just not sure how, been poking.

You should be able to edit the observation, and change the geoprivacy settings to “obscure.” Tho my understanding, this geodata can still be requested by specific researchers. The geodata is still valuable to those who don’t have that access, although slightly less specific, so there’s that.

I’m using the web version on an Android phone so it may be different for you, but here’s what works for me.

  1. When viewing your own observation, click on blue “edit” button in upper right corner.
  2. Select “edit” from drop-down.
  3. New page opens. Below the map it says “change geoprivacy.” Select “obscured” from the drop-down.
  4. Save edit
