Are "observations of relatives" biased toward atypical observations?

I’m not sure how the “observations of relatives” feature is supposed to work, or what its purpose is. I’m guessing that the ones featured are those that have been favorited the most often. Because it seems to be the case that the observations of relatives displayed for e.g., a house sparrow, or any squirrel, are almost always a bunch of albinos. I suspect this is not in keeping with the intention of the feature.
Not a feature I ever use, mind you.

Yeah, it shows the most favorited observations.
