I noticed that the computer vision suggestions in the app sometimes differ strongly between offline and online mode. Sometimes they get a higher certainty, lower certainty, or completely different taxa (see photos).
This is also disclaimed in the app, but I was wondering if someone knows whether the online suggestions are always better/more accurate. And is the offline model an older version or just a light version of the online model?
“More accurate” could mean a lot of things. But the offline version is currently version 2.30, and it doesn’t get updated as often as the online version (which is currently version 2.33). And the offline version is slightly simplified compared to the online version. Overall the online one is perhaps slightly better, but it probably varies by taxon, location, etc.
