Over the past 4 days, @zdanko , @alisonnetta and I have been going through the Sciapodinae (a group of long legged flies) outside of north america. We’ve added 30+ new species to inat in that time, many of which were sitting at family or tribe level for years. Its a great feeling!
I think this is my favorite species of those, Heteropsilopus pulcherrimum, endemic to the island of Sri Lanka, whose species name translates to “the most beautiful” in latin.
