Bigfoot Sighting and Photo

Did you have some Ritz crackers with you?

They often do this to surprise their prey. Or it could have just wanted a hug like @GothHobbit said.

Could be. But I sure as heck wasn’t sticking around to find out.

Big if it happens. No pun intended.

As the official state cryptid. Maybe that’s a first such designation? I suppose chupacabra would be my state’s since any creature that isn’t readily IDed is called that.

California always leads the way, haha.

We’re the first with a state lichen, which is pretty cool.

I see you have a state slug, as well

A few other obvious nominees would be: Skunk Ape for Florida, Jersey Devil for New Jersey.

Jack-o-lope for South Dakota and probably the other Great Plains states too.

Someone put it on a flag! Vexillology (and heraldry too) have an unacceptable lack of slugs and inverts in general.

It seems that these creatures have spread to places they aren’t native.

Obviously, not placed there by humans, so how did they get there?
Also, these appear to be some kind of hybrid or different species than the others previously described here. Do they all come in different colors?

I do wonder about the variation in pigmentation with these species. Perhaps diet plays a role in individual coloration?

It is safe to guess that the eyes of family Muppetidae contain cones, since these species display such a wide array of colors and patterns.

Perhaps in the seventies, when shag carpet was popular, these creatures were bred in captivity to supply the fur needed for the quantities used in households, and, like many captive species, escaped.

We should inform the foundation. The fact that SCP-1000 is blue and/or red might help with containment.

Why are they considered invasive?

Has anyone else ever encountered the amazing hybridization that occured with Marchantia polymorpha (Common Liverwort) when it grew in close proximity to the Muppetidae? (edit: this is an early video of its behavior!)
