Drug use? How? Why would that be in a nature documentary? Did it just show a guy smoking a cigarette while being out in nature or something?

like i said it’s not really a typical nature documentary… kind of like if hunter s thompson followed a bunch of extreme birders around?

Thanks! Mine was the Carolina Wren.

Goldcrest! Saw one before the beginning of November, but then a HUGE flock of them, about 10 of them came in my yard, photos maybe soon!

Went out with the camera yesterday to a spot we haven’t been to for a while. Been a while since I’ve seen ospreys. This city is amazing for what you can see within city limits.

I’ve got a challenge for everyone, starting this coming Monday!

Challenge: Get one person you know to join iNaturalist, they must then upload at least one bird observation, after successfully creating an iNat account. After they make the account and upload one bird observation, you must then share a link to their bird observation. Their first ever iNat observation that they upload MUST be a bird observation for you to complete the challenge successfully.

Happy birding to all, and good luck!

Haha! For me, it might be easier to make a bird create a account on iNaturalist and upload a selfie. Seriously, I have tried, but most people who create an account on iNaturalist after I introduced them to it just photographed some sort of moss and gave up.

Mine was a Eurasian Coot, as well as a barn swallow (a winter migrant here).

Speaking of barn swallows, behold:

This is the worst photo I’ve ever taken, and is an embarrassment of an observation. For the record, you never saw me upload this.

interestingly enough, a red-bellied woodpecker (I don’t see them all that often) :)
great way to start the month, my absolute favorite birds

Mine was probably a Steller’s Jay or American Crow. They’re just so common and loud that it’s hard to see or hear another bird first!

Is that a Hooded Crow?

Yup! It was washing some food (not sure what, actually) in a little puddle, as it rained the other day. It was friendly and cooperative  and, together with a good light, here it is!
