Picked up a couple of nice birds over the Xmas-New Year break.

The only endemic bird species in New South Wales, Australia, the Rockwarbler https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/332727295

And not super rare but I haven’t seen often, the Singing Bushlark https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/333524230

My first Fuscous Honeyeater photo https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/332502714

And the unbelievably cute Owlet Nightjar

Thank you!

It’s very good and those are awesome photos! The second photo of the Canada jay is so pretty! That and the picture of the wolf are calendar worthy!

Every winter for the last few years I have hoped to see snow buntings. Last winter I got a maybe look but this year I finally saw some, over 50!

You have several birds there that we have in Northern Australia and I was wondering if you were Aussie until you mentioned the Shikra. We have a brown goshawk/collared sparrowhawk combo that is easy to mis-ID so when I googled Shikra and saw the common names I had to smile.

Glad you could finally see some!

They are very cute!

Finally, we got a decent snow, and some fluffy critters to put the camera to the test!

https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/334365742 , used MF on this one

https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/334365834 , and on this one!

this one was a lucky one, one in an endless series of attempts!

At last, I understand how the camera works! (started using MF now and then, but still mostly an AF guy LOL)

I updated my very long wish lists. Not really sure it counts as a resolution but I’ll try to photograph whatever of these I can.

Umm, I think I was like 3 or 5 meters away, but damn, they’re fast!

NEW LIFER!
A Barred Buttonquail was walking on the road and kept on keeping a long distance from me. My cat finally saw it and charged, and the quail flew off, so all I got was a few bad photos, but I’m pretty sure it’s identifiable. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/334465586.

Now I’m 14 bird species away from my 100 goal at the farm, but only 7 species away from 100 everywhere.

A greater racket-tailed drongo I recently observed at Deo Nui San Pass, Lam Dong, Vietnam.

Nice photo! We have does in south india too, where they are insanely common. They are one of the few birds that are friendly enough to be easily photographed via digiscoping, compared to other birds that make getting photos a pain.
