I have not.
Thanks @oksanaetal for the reminder. Unfortunately I’ve not seen any wild turkey either.
I saw 13 a couple days ago in a farm field near my house, but no, none today either.
Nope, only turkey I’ve seen is in the refrigerator.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! God Bless!
Danke God bless you too!
Barred and screech owls are used to living closer to humans than great horned so suburbs can be good places for them to live.
Galliformes are an order of birds including turkeys, chickens, guineafowl, ptarmigans, grouse, and quail. They are my favorite birds! I have a special fondness for quail, though, due to their important roles in their habitats, and also their roundness and cuteness.
Also, I’ve never met a chicken who wasn’t beautiful! :-D
Oh, okay, lol. Cali Quails are my favorite. So chubby and adorable.
Yeah, you ought to see some breeds. They’re weird.
Don’t forget everyone tomorrow the bird of the week pole will be open for voting. Hope to see you there.
Heck yeah!
Can’t wait! :D
Party is on man!
- Crows
- Hawks
Bird of the week pole is now open. Vote what species you want to be the bird of the week and hopefully that species will be elected. Rules: once the poll has ended whatever species wins is the bird you have to try to find. Have fun and stay safe.
Why crows are winning??? Hawks are so much cooler. The US Navy even named a halecopter after them, the Seahawk. Not a Seacrow. Hawk is a predator, a raptor, so much cooler.
If I could, I would make 10 more accounts right now.
The day I die is the day people will prefer crows over hawks.
I love both, I do appreciate the intelligence of crows. I volunteer at a wildlife clinic and all the staff there, especially the raptor specialists, love hawks but agree that they can be… kind of silly sometimes, haha. The reason for this is the amount of space that their eyes take up in the head – there isn’t much room left for a brain.
Crows can also be predators, and they are really innovative and resiliant. Crow might be a good name for a helicopter that is used in many terrains and can land anywhere, maybe like those helicopters some scientists use to get to remote places.
Well, the crows are easier to find and see, thus completing the challenge. Besides, crows are awesome in their own beautiful ways. And they chase off chicken-eating hawks.
Me too, crows are cool. But, let’s face it, hawks have a cooler build. Honestly, I love to watch the crows and mockingbirds when the chase the hawk away.
And they pull his tail feathers out.
In fact, I watched a dogfight of red tail hawk vs. crow. Then, crow pulled a feather out of the hawk, and it fell by my feet as I was spectating. It was a cool fight. Yes, hawks can do some dumb things.
Interesting how superior optics minimizes brain capacity.
In dogfight, i mean intense aerial combat like warplanes.
