Can anyone tell me what "climatófilo" means?

The Spanish flora I use often mentions the word “climatófilo” as in “bosques climatófilos” or “matorrales climatófilos”.

I’m having trouble figuring out what this word means. Does it refer to some kind of soil whose only source of water is rain? How is that different from other soils?

Is there an English or Dutch translation for climatófilo?

The English equivalent should be: climacic , i.e. characteristic of climax situations.
