Carissa spinarum L. and Carissa ovata R.Br. seem to be the same taxon (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carissa_spinarum), but both taxa are included in iNat.
On Plantnet, https://plantnet.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/NSWfl.pl?page=nswfl&lvl=sp&name=Carissa~spinarum, Carissa ovata is listed as a synonym ofCarissa spinarum. Can anyone enlighten me please?
Hey Ruth, from a quick skim of things, this seems to be a little bit more complex, with some sources treating spinarum as a synonym of lanceolata, others having ovata as a synonym instead, etc
The best place for this discussion is on a flag on the taxon directly on iNat, could you please add one there
