You did the right thing @common_posy by correcting the identification on iNaturalist. As others have said, since the model uses visual similarity across millions of images, sometimes the suggestion is focused on a different part of the image than the subject itself.
The model does not currently use dynamic bounding boxes, but that is a possible direction for improvement.
Since there is no software bug in this case, I’m going to close the thread.
