Hello, I want to create a traditional project so that a group of members share observations within each other, but I cannot find the link. When I select Start a project the options are collection and umbrella. By ‘mistake’ I made a collection project and after hours I figured out it is not the right type of project. It has to be traditional project. Why iNaturalist complicate usability - there should be an easy link in the start project. Could you help me to get this done. :-(
It’s right here, there’s a link on the same page where you can start a collection or umbrella project.
The current minimum for the ability to make a traditional project on iNat is 50 verifiable observations. Looks like your currently have 43.
Perhaps this is a good thread to ask: Where is the information about how to delete a traditional project? I set one up for a class 6 years ago and it’s no longer needed.
NEVER MIND – I found it.
Ah, there you go. I didn’t even think of that
I have 55 now :-(
Also, since your screenshot appears to be in the browser, have you tried clearing your browser cache to see if that allows the extra paragraph at the bottom of the main project creation page now that you meet the 50 verifiable observations threshold?
Dear friends, I have the link and either of these two things might have solved the problem.
- I submitted a ticket to the iNat admins, and maybe they did some tweaks, or more likely,
- I logged out and logged back into iNat. Now I have the link to create a traditional project in the create project page :-) :-) :-)
Thanks for replying .
You currently have 51 verifiable observations. Verifiable is defined here. Whereas these observations of yours are missing dates or were marked cultivated, so aren’t currently “verifiable”.
Also,
Wouldn’t it be useful if you even wanted to go back and look at the data?
It was a project for a class I taught a decade ago. There are some projects I don’t intend to remove, but that one ended its usefulness years ago.
