Black tailed Prairie Dogs-cute and funny critters known for doing the wave for no apparent reason. I miss seeing these cute critters on an almost daily basis while living in Colorado. Sadly, their territory does not include Florida where I am now.
I think a lot of animals are cute. My list includes but is not limited to cats, dogs, capybaras, wombats, quokkas, koalas, baby cheetahs, penguins, puffins, and red pandas, I guess certain species of sharks, and some species of jumping spiders.
human minds: mammals are cute, unless they can kill you
.
summary of what I see above, although some people list jumping spiders and those are also common among naturalists to get the cute label.
honestly what is cuter than Oxyrhachis, their little flattened limbs reaching out for your hand, running fast and hugging onto branches, their small size and cool horns? O. krusadiensis with smaller horns was my cutest rare find ever: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/342266931

You need to see them yourself to know how cute they are…
Chipmunks! I live in the eastern United States and I enjoy having a pair of the Eastern ones in our yard. I’ve seen one species out west and it was also quite cute. I do not know how many species there are but I have to believe they are all super cute, the most cute and nothing but the cute(est).
I do not see “cute” in my observation field. My choices look connected to the projects I have joined.
I think bees in general are adorable. also planthoppers.
https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/333450107 is a larva but it is quite cute.
- The American ermine (loved this animal since I was in 1st grade and I’m bout to graduate)
- raccoon (had an interaction with one once I’ll eventually post what happened to my journal on inat)
- Ferrets
- Golden cheeked warbler
- (My honest #1 my dog)
I love the Melissodes that come to my flowers. Such lovely big green eyes and the long antennae and fluffy bodies.

They do look rather miserable when they get wet though.
I love melissoses too, especially when they are asleep.
To me, definitely baby albatross (specifically wandering and black browed). But I’ve asked around with others and I think that seals are the most objectively cute animals.

I struggle to think of a creature that isn’t adorable. Every walk I take outside in nature is filled with precious encounters.
I’d find a crab spider hiding under gumplant flowers that’s basically a tiny walking egg yolk…

Or spot an itty bitty resin bee that is the most spherical insect I’ve ever seen…

I’d walk through a patch of bulrush near a stream and suddenly come across a whole nursery of sweet fuzzy babies set up by a hardworking wolf spider mother…

Or a whole family of sleepy flower chafers huddled together on one thistle pillow!

Or maybe there will be a congregation of scolias buzzing around giant bugloss bushes, and if I’m lucky, one may even allow me to gently touch its precious fuzzy butt while he’s busy nomming on the flowers ~ <3

Nature is chock-full of the cutest little things for those willing to notice them (˶ˆ꒳ˆ˵)
I love them too! They are my fav!!!
(unfortunately I only have seen M. bicolor.)
Quokka has surely got to be a contender. I’d love to see one.
