Taxon specialists for families, will include Turkey tho. You can also @mention them – I won’t ask for their time and expertise unless the pictures are in focus and show field marks. Not too many requests at a time. I tend to ask the people who are active on the obs I ID, then it seems reasonable to ask for an obs they will get to later anyway. You may be able to find a botanist from wherever who is interested in the Flora of Turkey. Is there a collection project ? Who are the competent and active identifiers. For example we have
https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/flora-of-africa almost 60% RG. Because South Africa is observose in our continent, a lot of the identifiers ARE based in South Africa. But the admin of the project is based in Frankfurt. abounabat for North Africa is based in France. And so on.

Turkey doesn’t work out quite like that… the identifiers you mention are not necessarily strong ones and when they are, not necessarily certain when it comes to Turkey, where deciding what a plant is may take a considerable amount of thought. Many of the plants have no pictures available, quite frequently no herbarium specimens, new species are being published quite regularly, and the geography of known species has to be taken with quite a bit of latitude, as do even descriptions at times, which makes identifying iNaturalist pictures taken by non-professionals rather tricky.
I think that means something like, someone posts Veronica polita and you don’t know what it is but you know it isn’t that, so you say “Veronica but not V. polita”. I usually do this with a genus disagreeing with the prevailing ID with comment that it’s not X (“but not V. polita” in this example). Particularly relevant for when you’re making an ID outside your region to discount the prevailing one.

Since “Life” observations get sorted with “Unknown” observations, it is functionally identical to leaving that space blank, isn’t it? I’ve started encountering this even in cases where that is very obviously a plant.
Oh that’s very nice! I have been working out of the same tab since well before that change, so apparently the old URL still works to find all the observations, and I just never had any reason to notice the change in what happens when you click the button.
Being able to filter them out a is nice trick to add to the tool box. Is that the only value in moving something from “Unknown” (no ID) to Life? I can’t think of anything else, but maybe I haven’t thought of something.
