This issue isn’t really in iNat’s control so I’m posting it here. As we know, some places in North America have undergone name changes in Google maps to reflect government decisions. Many of us are unhappy about it, including me. However, I view it as being equivalent to a taxonomic name change that no one likes, almost no one agrees with, and won’t stand for long although it will be used in a few places and for some period of time. The vast majority of us will continue to use the original names. And then the new names will fade into history. It’s annoying, yes, but be patient.
