Borneo island geometric plot drawn poorly

Description of problem:
Step 1: go to explore
Step 2: filter to Borneo & look at map
Step 3: observe that map leaves out many parts of Borneo
This has to be a bug, because someone drew the geometric plot/polygon extremely poorly. This results in some observations not being captured.
Country level places are imported from GADM, so I wouldn’t consider this an iNat bug.
Would this be general feed back then?
Because Borneo isn’t just one country. And clearly… someone drew it… very poorly… where should I park this concern then?

That is uploaded by the community. So not a bug, just imprecise as you have noted. Curators can update community-uploaded boundaries, but that one is too big so it can only be updated by staff. As a workaround, you could have the project include the portions of Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei that comprise Borneo. Those are standard places that should be more precise.

You can try flagging the place or emailing staff, but they don’t usually edit community-uploaded places. You could also make a feature request here on the forum for broader site changes if you want that.
