I’ve been struggling with why a search isn’t picking up a specific observation. I’m usually pretty good at getting the parameters set up, but I’m obviously missing something.

Why isn’t this observation … [https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/383827154](https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/383827154)
appearing in this search … [https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?iconic\_taxa=Insecta&place\_id=186491&taxon\_id=120032&threatened=true&verifiable=any](https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?iconic_taxa=Insecta&place_id=186491&taxon_id=120032&threatened=true&verifiable=any)

It’s got something to do with the “threatened” status apparently. I toggled that off and the observation appeared. I don’t know how that parameter works though.

Checked if there was a change in conservation status, and I see a few from March 2025: [https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/120032/history](https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/120032/history) I’m not very familiar with the status definitions, but this seems like why?

“Threatened” means the taxon has a conservation status entered on iNat of “Near Threatened” or “worse” for that area ([see Help page](https://help.inaturalist.org/en/support/solutions/articles/151000170738-how-to-use-inaturalist-search-urls#Search-by-taxon-establishment-means-or-status-(introduced,-native,-threatened))).

This might be what’s happening, if the status has changed. Thanks.
