Maybe it’s a delay in notifications? I didn’t get any for 15 hours, so it may be real situation or maybe notifications don’t ahow up again?
UPD. Got 74 notifications from many previous hours, they do behave like it’s described by others.

I see notifications ( the red point in the upper right corner), but I don’t see anything new in my “newsfeed”. I don’t see nether new observations of the taxon I subscribed nor information of identifications

I experience the same (even with the Android add) and as I assume this has something to do with the system update, I commented it there:

Hello,
Same experience on my side.
I would add that we have access to new revisions through the notifications list until visiting those observations :

Once observations visited, we get the usual list with the 10 most recent notifications, lacking the real most recent ones just like the dashboard (where the revision from 12:46 AM also is the most recent displayed) :

I have the same experience, the site feed doesn’t update, nor does the Activity tab in the Android app. Notifications show in their tab as normal on the website, as do the pink notification icons in the corner of each observation in the My observations tab in the app. It’s been like this for at least six hours.

I thinks is because the site was under maintenance

I’m getting this still… I had 7 new notifications this morning but none of these new notifications showed up on the dashboard. The most recent new notification was at 8:00 AM this morning, but the most recent notification that is displayed on the dashboard (and also in the API Observation Updates) for me is from just before 7:00 PM last night, which would’ve probably been my last notification before maintenance downtime started so that could be related.

I’m having the same problem. I had one notification early this morning. I clicked on it and didn’t open up the drop down or home page again so I didn’t notice any problems. But just now, I had 3 more new notifications and after I looked at the first one I went back to the drop down and the other two (and the one from this morning) were missing. None of today’s notifications were on my home page either. I checked and found that both the notification at the top of the drop down list and the first item on my home page (new obs from someone I follow) are from before the shut down last night.

Edit: it’s working again for me

I see now that I have got new 60 notifications, but only two appeared on my homepage

The same problem - many IDs I got showed in notifications but never made it to the feed. A few did though, so this is somewhat complex.

And now suddenly, the updates are back! The “missed” updates are now showing, in the place where they should have been - that means NOT on the top. So anyone who has this problem needs to check a bit backwards to see all the missed updates.

Thanks for bug report. This was related to changes made during the downtime last night. A fix was deployed a little while ago, and hopefully updates are appearing on the dashboard again. If anyone is still having issues related to updates or the dashboard, please let us know.

Platform (Android, iOS, Website): Website

App version number, if a mobile app issue (shown under Settings or About):

Browser, if a website issue (Firefox, Chrome, etc) : Edge & Chrome

URLs (aka web addresses) of any relevant observations or pages: Your Home · iNaturalist

Description of problem (please provide a set of steps we can use to replicate the issue, and make as many as you need.):

Step 1: Start on page [Edit Observations · iNaturalist] observations/andygo1

Step 2: Updates icon (looks like thought bubble) shows new updates

Step 3: Click on Updates icon, shows new updates

Step 4: Click on " *[View your dashboard]"

Step 5: Now on [Your Home · iNaturalist] home

Step 6: The new updates I saw are not on this page & this page has not been updating since sometime today, despite several updates showing up, e.g. it does not show an update for:
[White Wagtail (Motacilla alba) from Súðavíkurhreppur, Iceland on August 12, 2022 at 08:57 AM by Andy Goerdel - Texas Master Naturalist, Good Water Chapter · iNaturalist] observations/130516602

The top update is now always:
[Common Eider (Somateria mollissima) from Súðavíkurhreppur, Iceland on August 11, 2022 at 10:25 AM by Andy Goerdel - Texas Master Naturalist, Good Water Chapter · iNaturalist] observations/130408604

Thanks,
Andy

This problem apparently affects many users. I had the same experience, now the “missed” updates are back, but they sort chronologically (as they should) so I had to scroll back through the feed to see them.

Sounds like a duplicate of https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/homepage-doesnt-renew-again-for-three-hours which should be resolved now

Combined the previous report with this one.

Everything works, thank you!
