I am curious about the habitats House Sparrows occupy within their native (Europe/Old World) range. Here in North America, I have only observed them in close proximity to human habitation, although I do sometimes see them at the edges of a preserved area, in which case houses, stores, farms, etc., border the preserved area. I’ve only been to Europe twice, and in both cases was on a tour that was confined to cities, e.g., Rome-Florence-Milan, or Edinborough-London.
They do so in the native area as well.
