To search for observations annotated as alive, use term_id=17&term_value_id=18 , e.g. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?term_id=17&term_value_id=18

For clarity, term_id=17 finds observations with the alive/dead annotation filled out with any value, and term_value_id=18 specifies that the value must be alive.
