It really depends on what they are using, since you said a phone, I would guess an app, but can you tell which one (iOS or Android) by looking at the observations? The interfaces are a little different.

It’s the Android app on a Motorola phone. I’m not familiar with either.

The [Android app has a known problem](https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/location-accuracy-expands-when-opening-saving-location/16225) of occasionally getting the accuracy vastly incorrect. For example, when using a pinned location with a set accuracy, it may change the accuracy circle to a much greater area, such as half of North America. To correct, one simply needs to reselect the correct location.

I have just had an exchange of points of view with a user that posted some observations (of cultivated plants left unmarked) featuring the position with a radius of 3-300 km.
When asking to manage a little bit better these observations, I have been replied that this person, substantially, for the moment has not enough time to add a precise position and that this will be done later.

Of course, I do not want to generalize nor to judge how people should spend their time. Anyway, what about just suggesting people to stop for a while and to take the right time to make things well?
I think that in this way there could more possibilities to appreciate some less visible details of an experience in nature.

If that was in my ID queue - Mark as Reviewed - Next.
Someone else can retrieve the ones that languish. Perhaps years later … but it will never be top of the queue again.
