Im in Central Botswana and have been looking for big eyed bugs (geocoridae) for 10 years, Looking at my iNat records, I have 40 attracted to a uv lamp at night, one biting me and one on the underside of a garden tomato leaf which was infested with red spider mites. So perhaps try a uv lamo at night ! https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?place_id=7105&taxon_id=146952&user_id=botswanabugs

I was going to say sneak up on them and start screaming. Peoples eyes get big when you do it, right before they hit you. I figured it would work on insects, too.
