Excuse me, I am brand new to inaturalist and struggling. Platorms are always evolving and yet I become rattled if I don’t find the same interface when looking at You Tube videos to study how to use Inaturalist. I took a photo but have no share button. Did it upload? How do I know? Also why is there a box that is labelled captive or cultivated? If you click on that box have you chosen? I’m sure once I get used to it, this will be second nature. Thanks
Welcome to the iNat Forum, Joel!
Please have a look at these video tutorials:

You have made one obs of a dogwood. And you have a second ID on it – so that is proof that others can see it too.
If the dogwood is deliberately planted there … mark it Not Wild = Cultivated (or Captive for animals) = and then iNat calls it Casual.
Hi and welcome to the forum and iNat.
In addition to the above comments, the reason there is a box labelled captive/cultivated is that, unlike many media sites, the observations you make here can be used by scientists in their research. They need to know if the plants, animals, etc., are wild or not.
For example, lets say you take a picture of a certain butterfly somewhere (lets say you saw it in New York). Scientists trying to find out what the current range of those butterflies out in the wild would need to know if the one you saw/submitted was a wild or a captive butterfly (like at a butterfly exhibit at a zoo).
Have fun and keep exploring!!
If you still have questions, feel free to post them here. The folks here on the forum and on the main iNat site are usually very friendly and very happy to help.
Clicking that box indicates that the observation is captive (pet dog, tiger at the zoo) or cultivated (plant in a garden, street tree). Leaving it unclicked indicates the observation is wild (butterfly on a flower in the street, tree in the woods).
