Hello. My original account is west-coast-trees but I forgot the password until now. This was my first time accessing it in years.
I understand that having more than one account isn’t allowed, but my intention wasn’t to have two accounts. This account was a replacement for my original. I don’t plan on ever using my original account. All my observations are on this account, bigleafmaple.
Hopefully iNaturalist staff can understand. Thanks!
that’s completely fine, not an issue
If your old account contains no significant data (observations…) and you have regained access, you could perhaps delete it, to focus on the new one.

To merge two accounts
Yup, I can merge them via help@inaturalist.org but I need to confirm that you own both accounts, so please send emails from the email addresses linked to the accounts.
I don’t have any observations on my original account, so I’ll just delete it.
