Description of problem:

Step 1: Go to Identify page

Step 2: Search for Actias luna

Step 3: Click on an observation

Step 4: Go to Annotations

Step 5: Type “LS“

Result: Observe subimago getting stuck in life stage. Refresh is necessary to reset life stage to blank. edit: It can actually be reset by setting another valid annotation as well. So it is a non-blocking issue, but nice to fix.

Thanks!

Another update: I’m trying to go to this record https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/346986124 (which I had previously attempted to set “subimago”) and update to Life Stage: Adult. Getting the following error

Noting that this is a broader problem than just this one annotation value. Same thing happens when I try to annotate a mammal as larva.

I imagine we’d have to deactivate certain shortcuts depending on taxon, which is probably not easy or possible, or have this fail more gracefully.

I don’t think it’s neccessary to refresh the page to reset life stage field. It happens that I inadvertenently set life stage to subimago, but then I just use arrow keys to go back or forward, and when I return to the observation the life stage field is blank.
