If you could travel for free to an iNatting destination

I’ve already been a few times but I love Panama. I think I’d visit the part I’ve never been to which is the Darien region.

Probably to either the Amazon or somewhere exotic. I’d love to see the difference in wildlife.

Absolutely the desert though here in the US! I’ve heard that many solitary bees and wasps inhabit them despite a lack of water?

I’d go somewhere with cool endemic species like Cozumel!

I would like to go to the most remote observations places ! I really like to explore the map and see places like islands in the middle of the ocean that has few observations

Talk about Henderson Island, St. Helena or Ascension Island!

If we’re fantasizing, I’d just want to borrow two things from Ms Frizzle: a certain school bus, and her shrink gun. Then just let me loose.

(Don’t wait up)

Also, presuming I could magically handle the altitude, how about Mount Kinabalu? Any plant enthusiasts care to join me? (Any willing to carry some oxygen tanks?)

Would you guys rather go to a place where you can see a few rare species, or a ton of common lifers?

A hard choice…

I’d go to either new Zealand or Tasmania. Kiwis, Kakapos, tuataras, Tasmanian devils, B.O.P (Birds Of Paradise) and more!

Considering my travel prospects, however, the most likely place I could go is a tidepool filled beach. Most beaches I’ve been to are just mounds of sand, pollution and people, so a tidepool filled with sea urchins and other creatures would be pretty cool to see.

NZ and Tasmania don’t have any BOP.

LOL kakapos are not an easy bird to see… you need permits and stuff.

:( My knowledge on birds is officially zero.

I had no idea, although it does make sense considering the kakapo’s conservation status. Hopefully I can get a permit one day.

Transport, accommodations, everything, to anywhere?
Photographing lizards!
The uninhabited, sandfly\mosquito islands… e.g. the Bahamas with Conception Island & Samana Cays… or Canary Islands…

When you say for free - what about the environmental impacts.

I am happy where I am. There is still so much to learn and observe.

Probably Costa Rica or Japan. New Caledonia and Australia too.

I’m sure you’ve seen my posts on related topics on here enough to how obsessed with New Zealand I am. My #1 answer for this would be the fjords and forests on the West coast of NZ’s south island. Besides New Zealand, there’s some closer places I’d like to go, like the pine forests here on the coast of WA. Also the Cascades.

Europe isn’t really that enticing to me, but I’d like to see what’s over there some day.

EDIT: New Caledonia! The Pine Island! Also Alaska

I live in NZ but I want to visit the Cascades!
