Article is paywalled for me
Me too.
Paywalled for me too!
I believe @tanvi_dg is on iNat. Maybe she’s able to share a gift link with the iNat community?
I think Bay Nature’s paywall just covers the current issue, so the article should be free to read in about 3 months. Also, I would definitely urge Northern California folks to consider a subscription. $40 a year gets you four print magazines with really well researched articles covering the breadth of nature in our region. You also get free admission to a growing program of events around the Bay Area.
Hi all, my apologies! We’ve been having some issues with the paywall, but this link should work for all: https://baynature.org/magazine/summer2026/the-many-faces-of-inaturalist/?utm_campaign=Bay+Nature+Summer+2026+jJ09u74h2K&utm_medium=baynature&utm_source=Bay+Nature+Team+Share. Please reach out to me if you have any comments, feedback, or suggestions based on the piece—we’d love to hear from you.
(and thank you, Rupert, for the nice plug about Bay Nature!)
I don’t know how to feel about this situation.
Great article, I appreciated the timelines and insights of those who have been involved in the creation and direction of iNat.
Very sad narrative. I can’t imagine how hard it was for Ken to walk away from his child after so many years. He obviously still has a passion for his vision though, and hopefully it will come to fruition in one way or another.
Thanks, Adam!
I find it helpful to re-read this article every so often: https://www.cranfieldtrust.org/articles/founder-syndrome-undermines-the-legacy-of-strong-leaders
Still behind the paywall? Or have I missed the boat? A few lines of text - just enough to whet your appetite. No point in subscribing; I live in UK!
Does this link work for you, Peter?
