Description of problem: I noticed that images weren’t properly loading, and eventually figured out that the issue was with the hosting. Is something wrong?
Step 1: Notice that images won’t load properly, whether it’s an observation or taxon image.
Step 2: Visit the Is It Down? page and insert the above URL.
As in images within iNat itself haven’t been loading for you? Are there any links you can provide to show some examples of images that won’t load for you; I’ve been using iNat all day and haven’t noticed any problems myself.
Just noting though, any issue on Amazon’s end isn’t a bug on the iNat side, there isn’t really anything that can be done to resolve it other than waiting for Amazon to fix the issue
I will just add a note that I don’t think that down detector link/server is necessarily helpful in this case (unless its hosting location is known). It shows the server is down as of posting now, but amazon iNat images definitely load for me now. In many previous cases, Amazon hosted images being down came down to ISP issues (often seems like ISPs in certain countries are filtering traffic, etc.) A down detector’s results will depend on where it is hosted as well.
