Is there an easy method to flag observations that I’d like to export periodically to csv? It’s easy to get my own observations using my Username. However, I’d like to export select observations by other users where I have had input into their processing, for example all records from a BioBlitz that are input into iNat by multiple people. There are various ways I could pull these for export by limiting date and location for example, but since I run multiple BioBlitzes each year this becomes tedious quite quickly.
I’m looking for an easy methods to flag observations that I’d like to export later to csv. Adding my initials as a Tag for example would work, but must be done by the observers - I can’t add tags to another user’s observations and it’s not worth trying to coax every user to input my initials as a tag. I can add my initials to an Observation field for records I’d like to download later, but there is no option I can find in the Export function to select observations for export by Observation tag (please correct me if I’m wrong).
Anyone else come up with an easy way to flag for export such records where I’m not the person who input the observation?
A traditional project could work for this. You’d add one observation at a time as you review them, and then you can filter for the project (and date, or whatever else) for the purpose of exporting.
Only issue with using a traditional project is that when I try to add an observation by another user to my project it refuses saying that the person needs to be a member or invited-member of the project. I would have to invite every member with an observation (think many people in the event of a BioBlitz) to join my project before I can import their observation.
are you saying that all your records of interest would be just scattered across multiple bioblitz projects? if you want to gather them together in one result set, you could group all those projects under an umbrella project, or you could just reference multiple projects together by referencing a comma-separated list of projects, like so: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?project_id=306943,123.
