I’d say that if the society belongs to pedants, then the apostrophe is needed. If the society consists of pedants, then the apostrophe is not. ![]()

What would you do about the journal Dipterists Digest? There are two places you could put the apostrophe, but not having one at all is very misleading. I haven’t resigned over it yet though.
