I’m not able to replicate on my own lists. I can remove taxa from my own lists without an issue when using Firefox. Does it happen with other browsers?
Edge uses basically the same engine as Chrome. I suspect it the issue might be due to extensions you have in Chrome. Did you try turning off extensions in Chrome?
I was thinking of @graysquirrel 's post in the other thread, where removing them (in that case via the batch edit page) also does not work, like your experience here. In that case either the removal action is nonfunctional for regular users (not staff), or taxa repopulate improperly in lists after some time. But maybe I am misunderstanding what you mean by “nothing happens” – do you mean the page responds but doesn’t load a new screen? The button doesn’t open a dialogue box?
I have noticed that I am no longer able to operate buttons on Chrome-based mobile browsers – if it would open a dialogue box (like trying to delete a common name), then indeed instead nothing happens. Maybe that’s the same root cause, I’m not sure. It may depend on allowing scripts to run, or something like that? I’m not very familiar with web development.
when I click on the remove taxon from list, nothing happens. when I try to open a new tab from the button’s link, it just comes up with the taxon info like it shows when trying to remove it initially.
