Notes vs tags - exclusion filter options?

As tags are not available in the app(s), I am using the comment field instead for uploading with my mobile phone, but have used the same word as a tag for other observations. Is it possible to search a term specifically in the notes, excluding the tags (or vice versa)?
(edited for clarity)

The keyword search should do it

If I tag for example a plant and a bug with a number, that number brings both results in the search.

That wasn’t the question - the keyword search gives results for both tags and notes

Sorry, @carnifex – I also read your request as asking if you can find the word no matter how you added it. You want to search only tags (not getting results for the same word in notes) or only notes (not getting the results of the same word in tags)?

there is &search_on=tags but I never used it.
Depending on the desired result you may almost want to filter by uploaded from web/app if that is the same as tag in notes vs tag in description for your specific case.

Oh, you are right - it sounded quite straightforward in my head, but upon re-reading I see the ambiguity. Edited the original question

Good idea in principle, however, as I am planning to adjust and harmonize those mobile observations, this search will not work once the process has been initiated.
But I think I have a workaround: I will use the same tag but add a number at the end for the notes (i.d. for observations via the app). So I can search specifically for those via the app, while I am also still able to find all observations by omitting the number at the end.

And I confirm the string &search_on=tags is working, but not its exclusion (by adding ‘not’ / ‘without’)
