Observation marked as Unknown with a Place holder and with an active identification

Filtering the observations by unknown, I found this observation with a place holder of (Epiphile neildi bakuru) that subspecies exists in INat, however there is an active identification of the user of (Epiphile chrysites
), the question is, if for example the user tried to add an ID of the subspecies but it was not in INat, this would have created the Place holder, then he added the identification of the species, is not the new identification supposed to have removed the Place holder? And now it should be identified as (Epiphile chrysites)?

This also happen with this observation.

I checked/unchecked wild in the DQA to make it re-index and now it shows up:

I ran into this same issue. I identified an observation that had NO placeholder, but it still displayed as “unknown”. Checking and unchecking the “organism is wild” box in the DQA, as suggested above, made the problem go away (I won’t say it solved it).
I am using Safari 13.1.2 on High Sierra 10.13.6. The observation is here: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/72376664

shows the species now

Unless you’re hip to Star3’s workaround, it’ll display incorrectly. Even though there’s a workaround, in my book this still counts as a glitch.
