I’m not an agency employee. I’m working directly for the landowner, who contacted me. She’s fine with the pictures being on line; I sent her the links.
I once got a request for a specimen of Argiope aurantia which I had observed just outside my old home. Since it was at home, I obscured it. I had just moved and thought it was not a good idea to have him contact the landlady of the old house for permission to collect a spider.
Found an interesting flag that touches the issue of private property:
A land owner, looking at iNat observations, found an observation point on his private property. Then created an iNat account to complain about the intrusion.
In this case this is obviously a misunderstanding as the observation is obscured, and the observation point is not at the exact location where the observation was made.
While it is clearly a misunderstanding this could still start conflicts among neighbours: Property owners enraged about an intrusion on one hand, and an iNat-observer that did nothing wrong but obscure observations on the other hand.
Is there an official iNat page that explains enraged property owners in simple words how obscuring on iNat works?
