Small tweak suggestion:
Under bulk mode is the option “Select and Apply Action”, which I thought meant select obs and apply action to them. Whereas it actually means select an action and apply it.
May I suggest that the wording is changed to “Select action and apply”.
Or is it just me who got confused 
I think I figured it out now. For completeness’s sake: I imported an old set of configurations, but then added a new action to that set. The problem was that attempting to update the one configuration somehow cleared the values for some of the other actions within it. In this case, I wasn’t being careful and missed the fact that the “Mark Observation as Reviewed/Unreviewed” got unchecked when I opened the area to edit the configuration. One needs to re-check the bubble for (in this case) “Mark as Reviewed” as it went blank.

I’d love to use this extension, but I can’t get any custom buttons to appear in my browser. In Google Chrome, in iNaturalist Metadata Tool Configuration, I’ve created sets and populated them with custom buttons to add observation field values. I’ve also generated keyboard shortcuts for the buttons. The green button at the top of the browser bar reads “iNaturalist Metadata Tool has access to this site” when I mouse over it, but if I click on it when in Identify, it only takes me to the configuration page. If I remove the extension and add it back, I initially get the “Enable Bulk Action Mode” button showing in Identify, but I can never access any of the actions/custom buttons I create.
Can someone who has successfully used this suggest what step I am missing?
Hmm interesting. I tried a fresh install in Chrome and it works immediately for me–you shouldn’t need to do anything. In theory, as soon as you make a button it appears on all Identify and Observation pages instantly. The only thing I can think of is: if you say you made sets instead of just adding buttons to default, you may be accumulating all your buttons in a set that isn’t selected yet. Can you check this?
