Hi, I’ve discovered the forum exactly 1 day after discovering inaturalist. and I’ve enjoyed it a lot since. its not too niche, like some reddit communities where your posts get flagged immediately if they are not strictly scientific and not too broad to still attract field experts to answer questions here regularly.
I’ve been looking for other forums that focus on topics adjacent to nature, such as ones for stargazing and especially natural navigation (using natural signs to figure out the cardinal directions), but alas to no avail.
I am especially interested in independent communities (like inaturalist) outside of reddit because I believe reddit is one of the platforms that killed the independent web in the late 00s.
