Ah, I just realized this is a continuation of a previous thread where the reason for lack of resolution has already been given by staff:

what we need is update of automatically created places with newer GADM maps which are far better than te one used currently on iNat.

Agreed. But making a change like that would likely necessitate downtime of several days, it’s not a simple fix. Every observation would have to be reindexed.
