Prevent the deletion of checklist records that contain comments

Description of need:
I would like to request that checklist records on iNaturalist be protected from deletion when they contain comments.

As shown in this record, I use checklist pages for taxa in Türkiye to list important scientific papers, references, and other relevant sources concerning those taxa. I have added similar comments to hundreds of taxa.

However, if there are no observations associated with a checklist record, that record can currently be deleted.

My request is that a checklist record should not be deletable if it contains at least one comment, even when there are no observations associated with it.

This would ensure that the references and information I have added to hundreds of checklist records are not at risk of being lost.

Are there people active to maintain these lists? Checklists are hard to find.

I sympathize with the situation behind your request. What concerns me is the case where a checklist record (with a comment) is actually erroneous and needs to be deleted, but its creator or commenter is no longer active or ignores requests. Curators would still need to be able to delete such records without escalating them to staff.
