Projects with same parameters don't have same totals

There is one project for the Albany Bulb and then the place the Albany Bulb. While the project is set up to capture all observation for all time at the bulb, the numbers don’t line up with the place numbers.

In the place Albany Bulb, the first observation in the project is from 2008, total observations 1378, 347 species, 177 observers. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?place_id=6731&subview=table

In the project Albany Bulb, the oldest observation is 4 months old, and the total observations 1616, with 381 species, and 182 observers. https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/the-albany-bulb and https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/the-albany-bulb?tab=observations

I’m confused about why these do not reconcile with one another. Have I missed something?
