My outlook is a little different. I’m only hoping that my carefully collected, displayed, and recorded observations prove useful. Frankly, it breaks my heart to make observations of organisms that I know are doomed.
Absolutely!
Physically separated reefs could potentially have different coral communities and different habitat structure so the assemblage of organisms associated with them could be different. That could be a reason to document your observations from each reef. But that would be your decision on how much you want to do and how precise you map your observation localities.
It occurred to me that I could simply tag a particular observation with a specific reef name. Now, someone could search, using the filtered explore feature, for that reef location tag and see all the associated observations. In this way, making duplicate observations won’t be necessary.
