Porcelain Berry is so delightful: ice-blue, pink, and lilac all in the same fruit cluster. I have never seen these colors in any other kind of fruit.
here is a purple tip butterfly i saw in kenya this summer. i only got just the tiniest sliver of its incredible purple wings in the second picture. it was so vibrant
It’s delightful until it gets in your garden! It’s very invasive and extremely hard to eradicate. Last spring I paid someone to dig up an entire fenced-in so-called garden that had turned into a depressing tangle of porcelain berry, despite many years’ effort trying to keep it in check. You can’t turn your back on that stuff for a minute. Now when I look out the window I frequently sigh audibly and say out loud, “What a relief that’s gone!”
It is pretty, though…
1- a mushroom which idk the name of :’)
2- not exactly purple but it has the iridescence, does that count?
commander (Moduza procris)
3- lastly, a large oakblue (Arhopala amantes)
surprisingly out of 1500 bugs only 3 were this purple ![]()
these pretty mushrooms
That’s what I thought when I saw it. Do flower-based cats do this? Neat trick!
That looks surprisingly similar to our Gray headed swamphens
