Some questions about the ID tips feature

I’ve kind of stepped away from identifying for a little while, but I recently noticed the “nominate as an ID tip” option and it’s caught my attention. I’d like to know more about how it works. Is there a place where people can find a compiled set of comments voted as ID tips for a species? Can people search for observations where ID tips were given? If I start leaving more of them, how many people would they be likely to help?

You’ll now see an Identification Tips tab on species-level taxon pages where community members can nominate helpful identification remarks, vote on what’s most useful, and browse the results. Everything is linked back to where they came from on their original observations.

This is the first version of the tool, and we expect it to keep evolving as the community uses it and shares feedback. Please feel free to explore it for yourself and share your constructive thoughts via this form or in this thread!

species-level taxon pages

Silly me, I tried looking on a family-level page and didn’t think to try a species one! I guess that’s what I get for trying to learn while feeling a bit sleepy this evening… thank you! :)
