Description of problem No overlay or link for GBIF. I checked another species and it was fine, and looking at GBIF, they do have the RG observations for this species.

There is a link for GBIF.

Go check the overlays on the map, GBIF overlay is not present, neither is the link going to GBIF.

Ah, I misunderstood the bug report. Sorry!

I wonder if it perhaps related to the fact there are two alternative spellings in GBIF …

I’m not sure if iNat/GBIF links are from cached primary keys or dynamic string-matching of names. If the latter and there is allowance for termination variants, then there won’t be a unique text match.

I don’t know, but I don’t think so. M desponsa is an out-of-date name, and I didn’t see any iNat observations listed there (some museums that need to catch up though).

However, under M desponsus they’ve got 692 RG iNat observations, but iNat has 915 RG observations.

Only RG observations with an appropriate license are exported to GBIF, not all RG observations.

Ah good reminder. And I think a good example of why the iNat map is also a useful tool along side the GBIF maps.
