Have never seen this before. On this observation, I used import from external providers to bring in the name Boronia subsessilis. However, it imported as inactive?? (https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/977490-Boronia-subsessilis)

That taxon record is not one just created, the taxon number is way too low. Current taxa numbers are over 1200000.
Likely this was already in the database as inactive and the importer recognized and did not duplicate it.
As to why it is inactive, I cant answer.
EDIT - best guess is it is inactive as POWO considers it a synonym, but does not say of what

Per https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1002/tax.12242 it looks like it should now be Cyanothamnus subsessilis but POWO doesn’t seem to have finished ingesting the new combinations in that genus.
