I want to receive email notifications when observations are made for specified plant species in my home state (Wisconsin). The notifications I wish to set up would be for individual emerging invasive plants such as fig buttercup. Can someone help me learn the required protocol?

I have no idea with any of the apps, but if you’re on the website, go to your dashboard and scroll down. On the right there should be a section called ‘subscriptions’. You can subscribe to (1) a taxon, which will notify you of any observations uploaded with that ID anywhere in the world, or (2) a place, with optional taxon, which will notify you of any observations uploaded in that place, with a filter of a specific taxon if desired. You sound like you’d want (2), for a range of taxa (which can be at any level, kingdom to subspecies).

Note that this will only catch observations _uploaded with the chosen ID_. It won’t find any that are given that ID later, whether they started out with no ID, a higher level ID or a wrong ID. If you want to see those as well, you’ll need to do searches.

@mark_horn I replied to your support ticket, but did want to link here again, if anyone else comes across this question: [https://help.inaturalist.org/en/support/solutions/articles/151000175262](https://help.inaturalist.org/en/support/solutions/articles/151000175262)
