A ReefBlitz event was held from 1-8 June 2022 in the Great Barrier Reef, Australia. The activity involved 29 observers, 105 identifiers, 33 sites, 1,396 observations of 409 species. The majority of species were fish. There were many protected, threatened and rare species recorded. A report ‘A summary of citizen science observations in the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area during ReefBlitz 202’ is available [https://www.researchgate.net/publication/361457454\_A\_summary\_of\_citizen\_science\_observation\_in\_the\_Great\_Barrier\_Reef\_World\_Heritage\_Area\_during\_ReefBlitz\_2022?fbclid=IwAR10wn-zCnqhNgqi6FO6XDevP-RMZIvMFR3Xh3iNf5yhnXc5OL-oeH3fj-w](https://www.researchgate.net/publication/361457454_A_summary_of_citizen_science_observation_in_the_Great_Barrier_Reef_World_Heritage_Area_during_ReefBlitz_2022?fbclid=IwAR10wn-zCnqhNgqi6FO6XDevP-RMZIvMFR3Xh3iNf5yhnXc5OL-oeH3fj-w)
Suggestions welcome on how we can improve with additional observers or outcomes for the next event
Adam
