Solution:
this is the “others”:
Ancestor IDs — the most common case. If you ID something at a coarse level (say, “Plants” or a genus) and the community taxon later gets refined to a finer level (a species), your broader ID is an ancestor of the community taxon and gets no category.
Uncategorizable IDs — identifications on observations where there’s no community taxon to compare against yet (e.g., you’re the only identifier and it’s your own observation, or there isn’t enough agreement to establish one).
Withdrawn IDs — identifications the user later withdrew keep no active category.

No, it runs contrary to iNat’s definitions. It’s also the same answer I just got when testing plugging the question into an LLM.
Third party tools and their documentation should probably be considered “caveat utilitor”, especially when created with AI.
