Hi all, not sure if the taxon just hasn’t been added yet or the name has been changed, but I can’t find Mansonia gagei in the taxon list. According to POWO it is an accepted name. The Thai name is จันทน์หอม, and it’s in family Malvaceae (formerly Sterculiaceae). I checked the synonym Burretiodendron umbellatum as well and that didn’t come up either. If anyone has any insight it would be much appreciated! Thank you!
Hi @kbrown97 welcome to the forums.
Sometimes a species hasn’t been added to iNaturalist yet. The genus Mansonia has been added, however only the species Mansonia altissima has been added so far.
You need to create a flag on the Mansonia taxon page and then request for Mansonia gagei to be added. A curator should see the flag and add the species for you.
It doesn’t seem to be listed.
On the website is an option to flag a taxon. Select the next higher taxon eg genus or subgenus depending on which already exists and flag it for curation. There are explanations telling you what to do. With your POWO reference you everything you need.
That makes sense. Thank you for your help. Have a great day!
Okay, perfect. This is the first time I’ve come across this. I’ll do that. Thank you!
